In the Platinum extras folder, there's a folder for Patch HD for TDU Platinum. It's used to increase draw distance I believe but from my experience using it, it also has a big framerate impact. iirc, it's also recommended to not use Project Paradise's HD fx tweak with Platinum either, though I didn't have many performance issues when I did use it.

Download the update here if you haven't. Inside the extras folder there's a folder for the 4gb executables. Replace the game's .exe files with these. It will also fix framerate issues you may have down the line.

I've noticed this happens sometimes too, and it is a bit frustrating. As for new cars, more will not be added to Platinum. There are 10 free slots to add your own however.

Guys, progress is happening, at slow pace, since i have even less free time, but TDU Platinum v2.0 (a.k.a former update 1.13 that grew enough to be called v2.0) is happening.

It's really frustrating to see that since I always have to redo the mission to make sure that the money stays at 80, 90, or $99,000 since I also want to get the bonus

 

Will there be a fix to this soon? I will not continue to do those vehicle transport missions unless there's a fix

There is not a fix, and that happens because traffic cars shed their invisible bits on the road. If the road is bumpy, avoid driving behind them might solve your problem.

Good to know, since I have this problem in a hitchhiker mission. It stays on 90, but it lose some 0.something that doesn't give me the perfection.

I'll try that, even if on hitchhiker missions, with time limit, it will be harder.

-Always remember to make a backup of your game before you perform any modification.

- For existing profiles, it's recommended to sell your vehicles and stay only with an Alfa Romeo GT BEFORE you install TDU Platinum. 

- If you're not feeling like selling all vehicles, just drive off the house with an Alfa Romeo GT BEFORE you install TDU Platinum, but this method might crash your game once you check some vehicles in the garage.

  Q. Why does some vehicles display an absurd Top Speed?

That's because how TDU was codded. Sadly, to get the gear ratios to work as they should, you must set the car's Top Speed as the top gear speed. Which means, the maximum speed that the final gear could achieve, regardless of it's power or drag. Usually, vehicles that have an "Overdrive gear" will display absurd values, since the last gear is really long, with the porpouse of fuel saving.

 

 Q. Ok, but why it is actually the Top Speed value is lower than the final gear speed?

That's because TDU, by standard, adds around 10% more top speed. So, if a car final gear speed is 330 km/h, if you set as 300 km/h, in-game the car will reach 330 km/h. Now, if you set 330 km/h, the car will actually be faster than it should, and will reach 363 km/h.

Deducting 10% of the speed makes not only the final gear accurate, but every gear will top at the correct speed, if your gear ratios are correct, which means the speed you need to shift will also be accurate.

 

Q. Why the car classes are broken and i have overpowered vehicles for it's class?

Because that was the easiest way i found to get these high-power tunes and keep the game "easily moddable".  TDU will only understand a car class change if it reads a new entry on the database. That being said, i would need 4 entries in the car database, for 1 single vehicle, 1 entry being it stock, and 1 new entry for each tune kit.  That means instead of 880 vehicles, i would need at least 3520.  Not to mention that if someone decides to modify that 1 vehicle, they will need to modify the tuning its aswell.  
That not only means it would take a long time, but that it would make the game much more complex to be modded, so i used the original upgrade system, that's based on % increase of the base vehicle, but sadly, it doesn't support class changes.

 

 Q. The traffic in my game is being glitchy and invisible, what do i do?

In the Project Paradise Laucher, make sure to enable V-Sync, to lock your fps to 60. The game won't do well with higher fps.

 

 Q. The game is displaying too much brightness, what i did wrong?

Usually the dealerships display a higher brightness than the road environment. But also, that could be caused by FX Tweak being enabled in Project Paradise Launcher. TDU Platinum weather system was developed to not require FX Tweak, if you enable it in the launcher, it may override the weather files.

 

 Q. The physics have been changed, but they seem the same?

That's because the physics engine is the same, but TDU allows each car to have their individual physics worked on, and that's what's been changed. To match real data, because TDU has messed it up even on the original game.

 

 Q. TDUPE is not working?

Yes it is, but unfortunately i've stumbled across an issue i thought i would have. This issue happens when the database has over a thousand entries, which is the case, since TDU Platinum's database has 1105 entries. So, to use TDUPE, you must follow these steps:

  • To run TDUPE, you must open it as admin.
  • Point your TDU database directory in the settings and click load.
  • Once it has loaded the database, search for the Custom Car you replaced in the car list.
  • Modify and Click save. (That is when the problem starts.)
  • Because TDUPE can't deal with more than 1000 entries in the database, it will make the game crash, to fix that issue, you must open TDU Modding Tools File Browser.
  • Extract the CarPhysicsData.db, located inside the DB.bnk.
  • Decrypt CarPhysicsData.db using TDU UT (this tool i did not provided, but it can be found on the forums)
  • Open it using notepad and set the number of "Items" as 1105, save and close.
  • Encrypt the file again, using TDU UT.
  • Replace the new CarPhysicsData.db inside the DB.bnk.

 

   Q. Do i need the game or this is a standalone game?

No! You need the game first, this is a mod and won't work on it's own.

Hello. After I copied the platinum files into the game folder, the game stopped running. When I start, a black screen appears and after 10 seconds crashes to the desktop.

Thank you for this amazing mod! 

Is there a way to make the spoilers (eg. from the Bugatti Chiron) work? I mean they are working but only if I press the "headlights" button. Does anyone know if there is a mod or a way to change for example the window function with the spoiler function. Would love to drive my Chiron with the Spoiler up!

If you've already enabled "V-Sync" and this continues to happen, maybe you have a 144 hz monitor? Make sure the game runs at 60 Hz or 60 FPS max. It can't handle higher FPS properly and bugs like this one appear. You can limit your FPS through V-Sync, if you run at 60 Hz or you can use software like MSI Afterburner to set an FPS cap. Not letting the game get over 60 FPS should fix the issue.

Hi guys, I was wondering if someone could help me.

 

So I got TDU the other day, installed Platinum etc, all was looking good. However when i loaded up the game and was at the rental shop, I selected my car drove about 20 feet then started playing with the graphic settings.

 

Now I have absolutely no idea what has happened but now my game runs in slow motion. In other words, every time i start to move, the whole game starts running in slow motion and this makes it unplayable.

I have tried reverting the settings, uninstalling and reinstalling. However the game is not being reinstalled cleanly as it is not asking for a product code and it can load up my last save. 

 

To test to make sure it wasn't an isue with the game itself, i tried installing on my other computer, which has an integrated graphics card, and apart from a couple of frame drops, the game didn't run in slow motion, which means that something is wrong somewhere on my better PC. it won't be an issue with my specs because they are much more than what I would need to run TDU in the best graphical settings.

 

If anyone has any ideas on how I can resolve this please let me know because this is driving me insane and I really want to get going. Thanks.

 

 

 

EDIT*

Never mind I have sorted it through me being a genuis... Lol only joking. In case anyone else gets this same issue, i think putting steering linearity causes this issue. With it on the game is unplayable.

Hey guys, is there a Dodge Demon or Hellcat in this mod ? I noticed one in a race, but when I went to the Dodge dealership I couldn't find one, only an older/previous gen Challenger, I checked all other dealerships and none of them had a Dodge Demon, so I bought the older Challenger thinking it's probably hidden in the tuner shop, but it wasn't, the only options for the Challenger are to keep it stock or give it a MOPAR pack.

 

Am I missing something or is the game glitching out ?

I have checked and I have no other dealership that sells modern day Dodges, the only other Dodges that I find are old/classical ones. And I have discovered all dealerships since I do have bikes

Hello

I seem to have a problem that everytime I reset my laptop without a tdu disc in it, the game uninstalls itself or something??? The main game in the files is gone, leaving only the Project Paradise Launcher, files from the main game/mods and "TestDriveUnlimited_Old" which the launcher can't see. Of cource I can play with the "TDU_Old" with Platinum, but it seems to have lower FPS and some other issues. The game worked perfectly fine before the reset without the disc. I have no idea what's going on.

I'm sorry, but, did you even read what I wrote, aka the thing you quoted ?

 

I am saying that such a dealership does NOT even exist for me... Which is odd, because I have discovered all dealerships, since I do have access to bikes.

Chrysler Dealer. Where you buy a 300C. A Jeep Cherokee. It also has a Dodge Ram and a Dodge Challenger R/T Shaker.  Near Classic Porsche dealer.

Download the update here if you haven't. Inside the extras folder there's a folder for the 4gb executables. Replace the game's .exe files with these. It will also fix framerate issues you may have down the line.

I've noticed this happens sometimes too, and it is a bit frustrating. As for new cars, more will not be added to Platinum. There are 10 free slots to add your own however.

I'm pretty sure you can access bike dealerships long before discovering all car dealerships.  It just depends on which dealers you discover first.  I don't think there is any notification in-game to say when you have discovered every dealership either.

Nah, you actually need to drive through all car dealers before it opens the bike ones.

So, I followed the read me and watched the video why is it that I cant see any cars after starting a new game, the rental cars models dont appear it crashes after picking any of them?

Because your bigbnk is not active or working. 

Do a trouble shoot and check these things: 
- Run the game as admin through Project Paradise Laucher.exe
- Mark check the Bigbnk box
- If still not running, check if d3d9.dll is still in the main game folder. If not, add it. 
- Remove any compability mode that any .exe of the game might have, like, Windows 7 compability mode if you're on Windows 10.

Not sure if this was an "Easter Egg" or something, and I'm certainly not complaining, but I just completed the "Tour of the Island" race with the Merecedes CLK GTR

. As this event is now one of my favourite money-makers, I have played it several times already, but never before encountered the following:

One of the AI was called Daniel, and he was driving a Saleen S7. This bloke was driving like Lewis Hamilton (perhaps it was Daniel Riciardo?); perfect lines, hardly any mistakes, absolutely flying! I hit about 260 MPH (420-ish KMH) in his slip stream, and finally beat him after the 120 miles by about 1 second!! The rest of the AI drivers were about 20 miles behind, as usual. Absolutely loving it!!!

His name was given by original TDU devs, so was his "behaviour trait".  All i did was tell the bots to hit 100% of the gas when accelerating and to take corners at a speed value of 1,05 i believe, before this value were like, 0,85 or such. 

Also, watch out for Douglas, he drives a F1 LM, he's also quick. Lol

Tried everything still cant see car models for some reason, really frustrating because this is such an awesome mod

Met Douglas in the "Ring of Speed" race.

While I was able to keep all the others A class car behind in corners, he was a no go. Every time I see him on the star line of that race, I quit and restart it. With a B class in unbeatable.

i have a problem with the mod i can start it just fine but when i press "new game" or "continue game" it just gets stuck on the loading screen and nothing happens. and by the way i have tried Everything to fix it but i cant get it to load. what can i do??
