Important Notice
TDU World DOES NOT support unpacked/cracked/modified editions of Test Drive Unlimited 2!
We are aware there are no longer CD Keys for TDU2 at a reasonable price given the "abandonware" situation.
A clean copy of the original DVD installation can be found on Internet Archives here:

If you do not have a CD Key, or can't find a working one online, you can use 80_PA to "fake activate" TDU2.
The latest download can be found here, you need the 7Z release.

In order to use 80_PA, simply open TDU2, when asked for activation enter "1234-1234-1234-1234" then when prompted for invalid key, click offline activation.
Launch 80_PA.exe in the zip and paste the "Unlock Request Code" into 80_PA.
Click Generate Unlock Code. Copy/Paste the Unlock Code into the TDU Activation Window, then play as normal.
NO mods other than the ones provided via our Launcher are supported.

How to install
Step 1: Installing TDU2
Perform a clean, standard install of Test Drive Unlimited 2 either from Steam or DVD/Digital Download
You must use a completely clean download if you do not have the Steam or DVD Edition. Repacked/Cracked editions are NOT supported!
Step 2: Preparing TDU2
Before you install TDU World, please run the original UpLauncher.exe at least once.
You do not need to start the game with the original launcher unless you want to make sure your game is installed properly.
Failure to do so will result in TDU World failing to find your game!
Make sure you have a text file named "key" in the game directory. Without this, you will not be able to access TDU World!
If the key.txt file does not exist in your directory, create the text file yourself and paste your CD key inside.
Note: The CD Key is NOT your Steam Key! Steam will give you a separate CD Key. Right click the game in your Library, select Manage, then CD Keys.
Step 3: Installing TDU World
If you haven't already, go to TDUWorld.com & register an account by clicking "Register" and activating your account.
You must use a legitimate E-mail address!
Inactivated accounts are not allowed online.
Once you've registered and activated your TDU World Account, click the Download button on this page to download TDU World.
Run the installer, It will automatically find TDU2 as long as you have a supported version installed.
Optional: Tick the Shortcut box to put a cool TDU World Shortcut on your Desktop or in your Start Menu to easily play TDU World.
The Installer will then ask you if you wish to proceed installing TDU World. Press "Yes" to proceed.
When you first load TDU World you will be required to download and install the TDU World Base Pack,
as well as the latest version of the game if you haven't already got an up to date version of TDU2.
You can also find other mods available using the Mod Manager.
Open the game and register a new account using your TDU World credentials.
(Nickname = Profile Name, TDU World Account = TDU World Username, Password = TDU World Account Password)
Congratulations, you can now play online! Have fun!

TDU2: Unofficial Patch

TDU2: Unofficial Patch v0.4.1

The main goal of this project was to track down and fix many little bugs that were missed by the developers. As the time went by we started adding our own custom content. The patch grew bigger and bigger to the point that UP started to look more like a modpack than a small patch.
TDU2: UP fixes a lot of car's specific bugs - like Lotus Evora gear ratios, Audi Q7 collapsing into tarmac etc. To preserve vanilla driving feeling and performance my changes to the car's physics were done very conservatively.
This mod provides easy access to vehicles (through dealerships) which were removed from the final game. The first release of the patch restored to the game all deleted cars (for example Nissan 370z Nismo and HotRod). Future releases provided cars made by our talented modders. All new vehicles have improved physics and balanced performance - player without UP would still have a chance of winning in multiplayer race using only official vehicles from the same segment - do not worry.
I have spent hundreds of hours preparing this mod. If you want to express your gratitude for my hard work you are welcome to donate.

If you don't want your cars turn into Miami's Mustangs DO NOT run TDU2 without Unofficial Patch. Never ever. If you have to run the game without TDU2UP at least backup your savegame!

Welcome to the TDUniverse! The definitive online mod for Test Drive Unlimited 2 is launching as open beta.
Bringing back all online functionality and improving on the original systems of TDU2, to create a more stable version of the servers than ever before.
What is TDUniverse?
TDUniverse is a project with the aim of restoring full online functionality to both Test Drive Unlimited 1 and 2.
The project embodies an online server that enables players to create their profiles and participate in the universe of Test Drive Unlimited.
Relive the classic days of TDU by getting behind the wheel of your favorite cars and cruising from the sunny boulevards of Ibiza to the endless highways of O'ahu.
We are launching in Open Beta status since our work on the servers is not complete yet. We are working on each feature until they are 100% how we want it to be before we release a full version of TDUniverse.
The players will be able to play just fine on our servers and are able to report any bugs they come across. We will then review/recreate this bug and see how we can fix it. This way we will be able to deliver a more and more stable experience every time.
Installing TDU2 with TDUniverse:
Install a fresh licensed copy of Test Drive Unlimited 2. Update your game to version DLC2 v034 by downloading this file and copying all files inside to your game directory. Launch the game to ensure its working correctly. Download & launch the TDUniverse Installer. Follow the instructions given to you by the installer. Launch the game! Creating an online TDUniverse account:
To play online, you will need to create & verify an account on TDUniverse.org After having created your TDUniverse account, start the game and create a new online profile. When at the creation screen, enter your TDUniverse account username and password instead of the TDU2 ones. You now have created an online profile, happy racing!* * Note that online play only becomes available after the completing the tutorial (after obtaining the caravan).
Thanks to our Lobby Karma System, TDUniverse provides a very solid online freeroam experience. Thanks to this system, players who have succesfully hosted previous sessions get prioritized over people who failed to host lobbies. This makes it so people with a strict NAT connection can only join lobbies, while people with a open NAT can also host lobbies.

I created a GUI version of tdudec.exe. It is no longer necessary to prepare tdudec.exe separately.

Usage:
1. Start tdudecgui.exe and drag and drop the "xxx.cpr" file on the form of tdudecgui.exe.
At this time, "Decrypt" should have been selected as the command option.
2. Click the "EXECUTE" button. "xxx.dec" file is generated.
3. Click the "Text editor" button to open notepad.exe and edit the generated "xxx.dec" file.
4. Make the desired edits and save and exit notepad.exe.
5. Click the "swap" button and swap "sorce" and "destination".
At this time, "Encrypt" should have been selected as the command option.
6. Clicking the "EXECUTE" button will generate a new "xxx.cpr".
At the same time, "yyyymmdd-HHmmss-xxx.cpr" should have been created as a backup.

TDU2 TurboRay RTX-like Reshade preset

This is a simple Reshade preset with non-RTX & non-DX12 RT ray tracing effect* that I tried to make it work with TDU2. Press shift + F12 to open the panel and adjust the graphics settings in-game.
Setup
Just move the files to where the actual game executable file is.
If you can't play TDU2 because you have an nVidia RTX graphics card then do the steps below!**
Delete D3D9.DLL, if it is in the TDU2 directory Get DirectX9 https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/confirmation.aspx?id=8109 Run directx_Jun2010_redist.exe. How To Install:
-First, make a backup, if you feel like it.

This is my first mod, that I actually decided to publish, maybe some like it, maybe not. I would've also liked to change the Icon for Hariba Radio to PhonkRadio, but it didn't work and it just corrupted the whole HUD file, no genuine idea why, it looked like I did it normally, also I would've liked to change the actual song names, but sadly I don't know if I can do that.

TDU2 SoundVolumeReconfigrator

This is a tool for changing the setting value of the volume such as the engine sound described in "CarVSTConfig.xmb".
Install:
- Store the file generated after extract zip file in a suitable folder.
Usage:
- Fill in the file name in the "Target : ..." field
- When you click the folder shape icon, the file selection dialog is displayed. You can also enter a file name by D & D a file.
- Either "CarVSTConfig.xmb" or the sound file "xxx_high.bnk" can be read.
- After changing the value of the element, click the "Save" button to save the value.
- After saving, "yyyymmmdd-HHmmss_file name" file is created as backup.

Important:
Hardcore setup is now really hardcore and it's good for drifting with 4wd cars (e.g. Bugatti Veyron)
Sport setup is made for drifting with rwd cars and for perfect lap times
Full assistance is for normal cruise around city and it can also be used for perfect lap times easily
It works online and also with Unofficial patch and AutoPack.
I was originally inspired by Veno physics mod and thanks to him I could understand how it works.
Used modifications:

Tested on Logitech G27
I still working on Clutch/Brake linearity and car suspension. Now I work on version for normal (slow) driving with smooth brakes and steering. I'll release it soon.

Hi everyone, today I'd like to showcase my RTurbo sound mod for TDU2.
I found the original V034 sound to be rather uninspired and generic so essentially what I did was replace it with the sound from release (V055 I believe) and make it sound considerably more aggressive/raw.
This mod does the following:
1: Increases the volume of the engine on-load & off-load.
2: Added burbles and backfire (think of it as a decatted non-resonated system!)
3: More woosh-spooly noises since after all, this is a turbocharged Flat-6. (Louder BOV & Spool)
Installation (GAME MUST BE UNPACKED)
1.) Open up your game directory, and go to Euro/Bnk/sound/vehicles
2.) Locate the sound file (r_turbo_high.bnk)
3.) Replace the current file with the one from this post.

These are the original TDU2 sound files from the first official release of the game.
NOTE: Not all of these sounds are perfect, some are quiet and others sound off compared to the RPM of the car. Use according to personal preferences.

You have to unpack TDU 2. Locate the commonworld.bnk for Ibiza at %gamepath%\Euro\Bnk\islands\ibiza\level (or where you have unpacked the game). Backup that file!!! Replace the original file sf_adpnl_d.2DB in commonworld.bnk\5Prepared\PC\EURO\Decors\Ibiza\Objects\street_signs\Common_Maps with the one in the zip by using the TDU Modding Tools - Keep the file names! Locate the commonworld.bnk for Hawaii at %gamepath%\Euro\Bnk\islands\hawaii\level (or where you have unpacked the game). Backup that file!!! Replace the original file rs_bbrd_ad.2DB in commonworld.bnk\5Prepared\PC\EURO\Decors\Hawai\Objects\street_signs\Common_Maps with the one in the zip by using the TDU Modding Tools too - Keep the file names!
