Oh. Ma. GAD.

*opens the topic to see the list axiously*

*goes through it"

"Goes What the Hell????*

Somebody slap me in the face but this is the worst car list for a racing game I have seen in ages. Not that the cars are bad but it looiks so small, so uninteresting. I thought TDU2 would bring out loads of new cars to drive around, how wrong could I be.

A part from the Impreza, there's nothing I want to drive, not even the over-hyped veyron.

Hell guys, seriously. I hope they're not scheming a thousand DLC's to bring us lambos and whatnot because you know that they know we all love lambos. There's almost no other car I used in the first game than my beloved Murcielago (Yes I know what you'll say "so why are you complaining then?").

I haven't been this disappointed in a while, will definetly reconcider buying. A casino and being able to paint my car with various stickers and good enough for me, not even a second island.

[mod edit:] Rules still apply, do not swear or imply it, thanks!

I'm really hoping that this is just part 1. If not, I shall probably not buy the game the first days it comes out, but reading a lot of reviews from magazines or friends. Why do sequels almost never quite be as good as the first one? I just really want old TDU, with better graphics, some new cars and a better online experience. Not Sims 4.

Guest mr cars

I wouldn't really care if they just upscaled TDU1 to HD, added Ibiza, and a few of these cars and suddenly you get a game way better than this. AND if they are gonna go DLC mad, not everybody has 500gb ps3 harddrives, and my 80gig is filled with all my current stuff

To be fair, we're in what I like to call "The Age of DLCs & Patches" and I reckon this game is going to be yet another offender of this crap.

It'll be "Let's release a half-arsed game just to get it out on the shelves and bringing in some money and reviews". Then they'll start seeing all of the complaints about glitches, content missing and all that general rubbish, then they'll announce that "We're making a patch/DLC which combats this issue that users are experiencing, it'll be along very soon!".

*update comes out* *people are happy until they find that the update as screwed something else up*

People start complaining again, another update comes out and so it continues. If you're really (un?)lucky there will be a bug which will be a game-breaker for a lot of people. The developers announce they are releasing an "Additional Content DLC" (In TDU2s case, it'll be a few cars). But, oh wait! You need to pay £5 for this DLC, for content which probably should've been in the game from the beginning in this day and age in the video game industury. That's where the rest of this car list will come from.

Sorry for the negative post but that's what I can see happening to be honest.

Yes, but 80% of those cars are taken straight out of GT4, so they look like crap and aren't modifiable.

Well 80% of the standard ones aren't that bad, they still sound right, have the correct performance and are modifiable, aside from rims, but I think most cars look best with standard rims myself. :p

I hope this is only part of the car list, there is a lot of cars missing that should be there I think.

Making a list of convertibles now for a few guys who find there are not enough of them in, does any of the people who have played with TDU2 in those special visits know if the GrandSport and C1 Corvette have an operational roof?
If they don't have them in real life they don't have them in the game iirc. I'll pose the question if I get the chance or a certain meerkat shows himself.

I'm not so much disappointed by the lack of Lambos, at least in the retail version, as I am at again how poorly the second biggest car market in the world is represented by just 3 cars. I know the Test Drive series has never placed any emphasis on tuners, but does Japan have to be so badly treated? Toyota and Honda give their licences to anyone that asks.

That and there being all those Ferraris but none are a 355. I love the F1 GTS and hoped it or some variation would appear. :(

The Veyron Grandsport has roofpanels to make it go 407, open it does around 350 and there's an emergency softtop which limits to 130 (km/h's that is).

The Vette C1 did came with softtops I believe, they most likely are manually operated though, still that raises the question do they work or not.

Here's the list I composed:

Cars that should have functional roofs:

2008 Alfa Romeo 8C Spider

2004 Aston Martin DB9 Volante

2009 Audi R8 5.2 FSI V10 quattro Spyder (TDU2: Casino Online pre-order/DLC)

2010 Audi TT-RS Roadster

2009 Ferrari California

2008 Ferrari 430 Scuderia Spider 16M

2009 Mercedes-Benz SLK55 AMG

2009 Mercedes-Benz SLR 722S Roadster

2010 Spyker C8 Aileron Spyder (TDU2: Casino Online pre-order/DLC)

Cars that either 1) definitely do not have a roof at all, or 2) have a roof which is manually controllable.

1965 AC 427

???? Ariel Atom 300 Supercharged

2009 Bugatti 16.4 Veyron Grandsport

2009 Bugatti 16.4 Veyron Grandsport Sang Bleu

2007 Caterham CSR 260

1957 Chevrolet Corvette C1

1976 Ferrari 308 GTS Quattrovalvole

1971 Ferrari Dino 246 GTS

1955 Jaguar D-type

2008 Lotus 2-Eleven

2009 Mercedes-Benz SLR Stirling Moss

2000 Pagani Zonda C12S Roadster

2006 Pagani Zonda F Roadster

2006 RUF RK Spyder

2003 Wiesmann MF3 Roadster

To circuit based racers yes not to freeroam, street racing titles especially with civilian traffic that can be hit.

Perhaps the Ferrari license only goes so far or you have to pick and mix, who knows but yeah seeing the F355 in a game would be sweet as it's such a beautiful car.

All I can say is people are unhappy on all TDU2 dedicated forums/topics. Many of them have a poll and absolutely no-one takes the option "wow great car list".

I'm ok with DLC's for as long as the initial game has a lot to play with. Forza 3 for example had a big car list of what, 400 cars initially? Paying a few € for some more cars did not seem like a rip-off at all.

But if Atari are planning on making more money be releasing car packs of 5-10 cars every months (I'd say a decent car list would be around 200 for a game like this) that's 10-20 DLCs at let's say 5€, way to take us for fools.

I really expected an EVO to go with the Impreza tbh.

I've combined Spyders/and coupes (so we count only one as the model) and deleted unnecessary preorder cars: The car count becomes 80..

*Note* It can be argued to be less since the five Veyron's and 1 Zonda's should be considered as 1 model each, but then the car list is just 73...and it can probably drop down even more.

Kind of like Midnight Club: Los Angeles all over again, innit? All said and done I may end up buying it if they do everything else well.
