[headline]the banner contest #71[/headline] http://turboduck.net/img/tbc/tbc.jpg[/img] He did it again, yes Soundwave did it again. Another win, taking it to three in a row with his victory in tbc #70 with another wonderful DRIVECLUB shot. Due to the delay and some hassle we've had, for which we apologise, it is only right I feel that we kick this new 'tbc' off by making it a Free-for-all. So no theme to stick to except the usual that your image has to be from a driving or racing game. Theme: Free-for-all Deadline: Sun 29th May, 2016 - Entries | Sun 5th June, 2016 - Votes PRIZE The winning entry or entries will be posted up on our community forum banner and if large enough will also be put on our social channels too. (if multiple winners then images will be split between these as we see fit) RULES Stick to the implied theme (don't look for loopholes) - any being awkward for the sake of it will make you ineligible for entry Images must not exceed 5MB, and dimensions must be at least 1280x720. (please do not crop your pics to the banner dimensions) No post-production or editing of entry images except to crop or resize please, raw from the game is what we want - use the game settings to set up your image correctly The post that contains your entry image must be labelled with 'ENTRY POST' (makes it clear what image you are going with & for us to find :p) If you change your mind on your entry image - DO NOT post updated images in later posts, edit and replace the previous image with the new one (up until thread is locked for Poll creation) Each entrant must also cast a vote - if you fail to vote, your entry will be disqualified from Poll results You cannot vote for yourself - instant disqualification if so Winner chooses the next theme, unless they won prior, in which case the runner up decides - if no pick within 24 hours then theme will be free-for-all Winner has 24 hours to create a new thread or can PM or reply in the current TBC thread to have a staff member do so instead Winner must not try to sneak new rules in the new thread or alter existing rules - be clear on your theme to avoid this Competition is limited to games on all platforms of any age that are classified as driving/racing games. (i.e. FPS games that have cars in them are not eligible) (Please mention what game your screenshot is from if not obvious) Entering the competition with a TDU2 picture may result in suspension/ban of your account. Each contest is broken into an entries part and then a voting part, after which the winner(s) will be decided from the poll results Good luck everyone!! :bparty:

Great shot that second one. How are you enjoying turning left (I kid!) with the new pack?

gt sport Gran Turismo Sport - Gameplay Trailer
Eudemon replied to hassan1995's topic in Driving & Racing Games
It is. It's not actual GT7 it's more a slimmed down more racing focused example of GT with FIA credentials. More accurate and informed sources would class it between GT3 and GT5 Prologue in fact. There is a feeling too that the game shown was an earlier build and that the jitteriness seen in the footage when viewing as a spectator was due to that view not having the correct physics that replay and the game itself has, which again from reports was said to have shown none of the strange behaviour viewable in the spectating view. I find it crazy though how many people are going nuts over the blow-off valve noise of the Evo when it was just a simple sound and the rest was more of the same. I do believe we will see a major improvement with the game come its release and I have to say that when watching the races themselves, it did throw me back to the great old days of racing GT4 over Xlink Kai I think it was called. Oh yeah mentions too of a damage system and other gubbins was good to hear but as we know all too well, it is better to wait before jumping for joy at this sort of info. -

Sounds are still a let down from reports of those who are there, and they're using headphones so it's not a big open area disrupting being able to hear the audio type thing. It can look as good as reality, play like the best thing ever but if it sounds like a Dyson owners convention then I'm keeping away. It's ridiculous that aspect is still not one of the main areas they are working on. -
Assetto Corsa JDM DLC Another vehicle pack has dropped for Assetto Corsa (AC) and this time it is the turn of those from Japan. This new DLC offers some of the most favoured and admired models from the land of the rising sun and sees the debut of Mazda to the series. Featuring models from Toyota, Nissan and Mazda, the Japanese pack will make many JDM fans happy with the inclusion of idols such as the Supra MK IV, AE86 Trueno, RX-7, MX-5, GT-R R34 Skyline and the 370Z. With many of these being known for their fun handling, particularly the MX-5 and AE86 Trueno, AC's respected simulation physics should make piloting these cars in the game's many circuits a lot of fun and quite the challenge, but if nailed properly, will no doubt deliver one of the best virtual driving experiences around. With this being a pack full of Japanese machinery, it is of no surprise that the drift muppets (love you really guys!) are specially catered for, with Drift versions of the Supra and AE86. And don't worry if that's not your thing, as a number of the cars come in more than one guise and consist of either a tuned or track attack variant, along with the normal stock offering. In total there are 6 distinct cars with 12 possible versions: Mazda MX-5 2015 Mazda MX-5 CUP Mazda RX-7 Spirit R + tuned version Toyota Supra MK IV + time attack and Drift version Toyota AE86 Trueno + tuned and Drift version Nissan 370Z NISMO Nissan GT-R R34 Skyline V-Spec Available now, the Assetto Corsa Japanese pack is available on Steam for the reasonable price of €4.99 / £3.99 / $4.99. NASCAR vs RACECAR USA ! USA ! Aw yeah, it's time to throw out some awful stereotypes as the favourite sport of America, NASCAR, gets its very own Expansion Pack for Forza Motorsport 6. Clearly I kid, but it does have a crazy following and the racing is always close, frenzied and produces some kick-ass entertainment. And now Forza players can get a taste of some of that for themselves with this fairly chunky Expansion. Featuring 24 models from the NASCAR 2016 season and adding yet another real-world track to the impressive Forza roster with the introduction of Homestead-Miami Speedway, the NASCAR Expansion, being that is a game and is not bound to the boring rules of reality, will have players taking part in an all-new NASCAR World Tour career with over 10 hours of racing. https://youtu.be/Saite7sy_dg The intensity of driving these quintessentially American race cars is at the heart of the NASCAR Expansion experience. Players will be able to drive 24 2016-season NASCAR models from teams like Joe Gibbs Racing, Chip Ganassi Racing, Stewart-Haas Racing, Hendrick Motorsports and Team Penske, including the cars of top-flight NASCAR drivers Jimmie Johnson, Kyle Busch and Chase Elliott. Johnson, Busch and Elliott also serve as the stars of the “Voices of Motorsport” in the NASCAR Expansion, introducing fans to the history and technology of NASCAR. Giving them the chance to throw down the gauntlet against the other disciplines, allowing their NASCAR to be pit against the best of the rest that the world has to offer: V8 Supercars, GT, WEC Endurance, Formula E, GT and more, in a bundling of fantasy races many motorsport fans would really love to see happen. Your favourite driving games of all time?
Eudemon replied to CarMadMike's topic in Driving & Racing Games
Those brakes were quite amazing for sure. Have always admired Forza for doing in its first time what Gran Turismo players had been asking for since GT 1. Yeah the original games had everything from R/C sized cars, tanks, trippy rainbow skies and a mad lava covered circuit iirc. -
Your favourite driving games of all time?
Eudemon replied to CarMadMike's topic in Driving & Racing Games
I really enjoyed the original Most Wanted on the Xbox. It took the best parts of the previous games and didn't force you to rice your car or anything in order to progress. -
I'm starting to think you are an AI yourself now. :susp: Seriously though, the thinking and smooth motions that the AI takes in doing these actions is so much more natural than almost any other game I can think of. The gentle use of brakes, the swerving out and then back in to increase momentum when the cars collide and then the way they turn to cut you off from driving away. You have a real talent and it's not just in the one area either, as the visuals and physics that can be seen show. Thank you again for showing us an update.

TDU 2 was playable though... I spent so much time in the Casino playing Poker and hitting the slots. And let's not forget the roulette with roulette, where it was a game in itself to see if you won, won then lost, lost or lost everything! -

Now this is an ask. I'll need to have a long think for sure. Kelekole is definitely one of the top runners though! There was another fun stretch of road with twists and turns broken up by some long sections that easily rivalled it imo. -
The Grand Tour - It's showtime for Season 2!
Eudemon replied to TIMELESS's topic in General Discussion
Crap name. Probably try and call it GT all the time as a small but completely stupid dig at TG and the BBC. The Grand Tour is more like a History channel documentary or something about trains imo. I cannot see that name sticking for long.- 144 replies

Need for Speed 2017 The reboot of the Need for Speed series was released starting back in November last year for the PS4 and Xbox One after being in development for two years. Now today we hear that this schedule will continue as the next one will be Need for Speed 2017. Not surprisingly, nothing is known about what this future NFS will be about, contain or be based upon except for maybe having cars of course. Will it follow on from the current and go down the more urban street-racing culture and deliver us more of those cringey live action scenes to make the story progress? Well as said not long ago, we don't know and probably won't until around the same point in 2017 where we were provided with the first view of what became the current Need for Speed. Having only released for the PC in March and with the excitement over the announcement of all future DLC content being free for the game, it is naturally pushing the buttons of some people who are upset that the post-release support has dried up. That's not to say that EA and Ghost didn't deliver on their promise, they did, with a number of new cars, challenges and that rather splendid Photo mode that they strangely named 'Snapshot Pro' (think I may remember a photo place called that) but you can understand why people feel this way. Before the mention about the 'that's your lot for this one' a figure rich infographic was revealed showing just how much enjoyment players have had with winning, customising and sharing from their times with the game. Since Need for Speed made its return, you've spent a massive amount of time on the roads of Ventura Bay. You’ve collected over 9.8 billion REP points, taken over 35 million Snapshots, raced in over 10 million Drag Races, and beaten a total of 52 million Eddie’s Challenge Events. You’ve spent a stunning 950 million minutes customizing cars, no doubt helped with the $2.5 trillion in-game cash earned. You’ve shared more than 700,000 wraps, resulting in more than 13 million downloads by your fellow NFS fans. [caption id=attachment_5105" align="alignnone" width="800] One for the statistics and number fans this![/caption] Depending on what kind of NFS gamer you are, you will either wish for the past glory of the series to return with the classic racing around point-to-point locations given the choice of whether to have the police pursuing you as you do or simply going for being first across the line. For those who idolise the Supra then it's clear you will want them to expand on what this reboot brought with it and want an even bigger open-world environment, the latter of which I totally agree. No matter where your driving hat lies with the Need for Speed series, there is now a lengthy wait for the next one and you may not agree with this, but for us, this is the fun part, where the guessing, wishing and blowing tiny slivers of info out of proportion takes place, but in doing so, it brings all manner of fan together to share and discuss with one another. And if you have some sway with the 10+ year olds then you'll probably get a chance to see the game and help shape it during its development phase. (Yay?) We are now building upon the foundations that have been laid with Need for Speed and delivering our next game in 2017. That’s not to say that we’re going quiet between now and then... far from it. We'll be working with our community and there will be multiple opportunities to bring many of you into the studio in the coming months to get your feedback on where we're headed. Battlefield 5... 1? Revealed Friday 6th May
Eudemon replied to TurboDuck's topic in Gaming Discussion
It's really sad to think that had they not shown MW:Remastered that the trailer would probably be doing really well and people would be OMG CoD IN SPPAAACCEEEE!! BF1 isn't safe either, there's a growing worry about some of the directions they appear to be taking. Class specific vehicles being one of the main ones but, to be fair if it keeps the snipers out of the air so they can't bail onto their tall towers to get their 3 1000m+ kills in the whole match then bring it on! :nnnn: -
Happy Birthday dear whatever you're known as now. Enjoy your day and celebrations and realise it's still all down hill from here on out. :D

/late Well that was a bit of an eventful race day wasn't it? Like you say Mells, that first race was quite full of the old tyre going *pop* on a number of cars it seemed. Kind of hard not to see that happen with the temp of the day and the jagged kerbs that Thruxton has though. Just those two enough would probably put in the possibility of a puncture but then you factor in the sheer speed these cars doing and the load on the rubber and something has to give. Could have been lessened with the drivers taking it easier but then we wouldn't get the all-out battling we saw in most of the races. Bit of a shame too that the races were shortened -- though I understand why -- as the Hondas and BMWs do look after their tyres well with the latter coming on strong in the latter end of the races. Neal was a right halfwit trying to turn into the pits when he would have known that train was behind him, however you can understand why he would do it as the entrance was right there. Following on from this I was shocked and glad to see nobody collected Shedden as it would have been so easy for a car to go down that side, and because of the smoke not realise a car was there and collide with it hard. The support races were also fantastic, the Clios as always were good to watch and seeing them heading three-wide at the fastest parts of the circuit with barely any room between them and the slightest contact resulting in disaster was just as thrilling as any BTCC race. In fact for me personally the insane Ginetta Juniors were the most exciting race of the day, those kids have some real grit between their teeth and despite their ages have some incredible race craft and respect while fighting for positions. I think you can already see some future BTCC and maybe F1 names in amongst that lot. Was good to see Aiden Moffat in the other A-Class doing well until his race was unfortunately cut short and the Jordan/Jackson in-battle continues strong and so does the Focus. Was impressed and finally happy to see the other teams such as Eurotech and Power Max getting into the mix of things too. If these teams could get some better more accomplished drivers I think we would see racing on par of that of the 90s and that's a really tantalising prospect! Shame it's a whole month before the next round at Oulton Park but if it it's anything like Thruxton was then the wait will be worth it.
