I could say the same about the BlackBerry.

 

Over here they're just status icons. The features of them are alright, but my £80 Samsung Tocco Lite can do pretty much anything a BB can. Except Wifi, of course.

Tbh I prefer 90% of smartphones to Blackberry's. Blackberry's just feel outdated.

LG GT540 Optimus:

 

Runs Android 2.1 and it generally a rather awesome phone. Battery life is a bit crap, at just over a day and a half. (nothing compared to my old Samsung Tocco Lite at well over a week)

I have it in a protective rubber case haha, so hopefully I wont, but it's insured if I do :)

A day and a half is good, try 8 hours! Although if I don't use it for all the apps it'll last 2 days.
