Does it need some patch like 1.66a or something like that in order to work or it can work also with a unpatched version of the game??? and is the original copy of the game absolutely necessary or I can also use a cracked version???

The game doesn't work on Windows 10 if it's not cracked, so you'd have to use a cracked version with Windows 10.

Weird. I had to go through a lot of troubles to get it to work. Now I keep an archived copy and don't reinstall the game ever. 😁 Otherwise it may break.

Hey Mili im having trouble to play the game. First i launch the game trough tdu - project paradise launcher. And when i start the game it is loading really long. Ive tried with all settings to change and still is loading too long. Can you tell me what i did wrong. BTW great mode for TDU

I'm not sure if this is an issue purely on my end or not, but I have several cars that aren't loading at all, either in the dealership or in a race. If it's in the dealership then buying/renting the car crashes the game, if it's in a race the game never starts the race causing me to have to restart the game. I'm on 1.66 if that's of any help

I have an issue with this mod. I've installed it into a clean Gold edition of TDU. Without the mod, it loads and boots up completely fine. But when Platinum is installed and I launch the game through the project paradise exe, it completely crashes, and I can't get to the menu. 

My specs are as follows;

Intel i5=2500k CPU @ 3.3ghz

GTX 970

8GB RAM

Windows 10 64-bit

-Always remember to make a backup of your game before you perform any modification.

- For existing profiles, it's recommended to sell your vehicles and stay only with an Alfa Romeo GT BEFORE you install TDU Platinum. 

- If you're not feeling like selling all vehicles, just drive off the house with an Alfa Romeo GT BEFORE you install TDU Platinum, but this method might crash your game once you check some vehicles in the garage.

  Q. Why does some vehicles display an absurd Top Speed?

That's because how TDU was codded. Sadly, to get the gear ratios to work as they should, you must set the car's Top Speed as the top gear speed. Which means, the maximum speed that the final gear could achieve, regardless of it's power or drag. Usually, vehicles that have an "Overdrive gear" will display absurd values, since the last gear is really long, with the porpouse of fuel saving.

 

Q. Ok, but why it is actually the Top Speed value is lower than the final gear speed?

That's because TDU, by standard, adds around 10% more top speed. So, if a car final gear speed is 330 km/h, if you set as 300 km/h, in-game the car will reach 330 km/h. Now, if you set 330 km/h, the car will actually be faster than it should, and will reach 363 km/h.

Deducting 10% of the speed makes not only the final gear accurate, but every gear will top at the correct speed, if your gear ratios are correct, which means the speed you need to shift will also be accurate.

If you are russian, don't install the RUS folder. I've same error as yours, and I figered out that launching modification with RUS folder installed crashes the game on launch. I've reinstalled modification without RUS folder and now game launches just fine

I'm not russian, I found the Gold version online as I'm trying to preserve my original TDU disc. And it had everything with it, 1.66 and the megapack. However, I haven't installed the RUS folder, as I'm not Russian, I want to play the game in English. And even then, without the RUS folder, it still crashes the game. I think my problem is something to do with TDU and Windows 10.  I originally played UCP 1.04 on Win7 but since then I updated to Win10. I've done all the compatibility fixes too (set the exe file to Windows XP SP3, Overriden the DPI settings and running the game as Admin.)

 

EDIT: Also tried putting Platinum in a normal version of TDU, (which has only 1.66A and the Megapack installed)  I'd figured this would work as it has the right path that Milli mentions in her readme; "C/Program Files (X86)/Atari/Test Drive Unlimited" apart from it's on my D drive as that's my mechanical HDD whereas C is an SSD which I use only for the OS, but no same problem. Booted up through the project paradise exe and I get greeted with "TestDriveUnlimited has stopped responding".

I have no clue. Did you installed TDU before you tried to run TDU Platinum?

Try to check the compability mode of Platinum .exes, like the Paradise, TestDriveUnlimited, etc, and remove any compability they may have.

Online playing is being complex, due to errors with Project Paradise. So, i suggest you to install TDU, install Project Paradise individually, and create an online account.  To have an online account, you need to mark check the gamespy box when creating the profile. Insert an email and a password, and the profile will be online. 

If you get your online account up and running, install TDU Platinum.

It is possible.  You need to edit the file located in Euro/Bnk/Sound/Radio

Is it also possible to modify the name and the icture of the car salers? It's strange to see a showroom 'Pontiac' without any Pontiac's car.

I won't add MagicV8 mod because it's not everyone's preference, so, that is up to the player. You can still install it, if i am not wrong. 

And no, it is not possible. I tried.
