Why does some vehicles display an absurd Top Speed? That's because how TDU was codded. Sadly, to get the gear ratios to work as they should, you must set the car's Top Speed as the top gear speed. Which means, the maximum speed that the final gear could achieve, regardless of it's power or drag. Usually, vehicles that have an "Overdrive gear" will display absurd values, since the last gear is really long, with the porpouse of fuel saving. Q. Ok, but why it is actually the Top Speed value is lower than the final gear speed? That's because TDU, by standard, adds around 10% more top speed. So, if a car final gear speed is 330 km/h, if you set as 300 km/h, in-game the car will reach 330 km/h. Now, if you set 330 km/h, the car will actually be faster than it should, and will reach 363 km/h. Deducting 10% of the speed makes not only the final gear accurate, but every gear will top at the correct speed, if your gear ratios are correct, which means the speed you need to shift will also be accurate. Q. Why the car classes are broken and i have overpowered vehicles for it's class? Because that was the easiest way i found to get these high-power tunes and keep the game "easily moddable". TDU will only understand a car class change if it reads a new entry on the database. That being said, i would need 4 entries in the car database, for 1 single vehicle, 1 entry being it stock, and 1 new entry for each tune kit. That means instead of 880 vehicles, i would need at least 3520. Not to mention that if someone decides to modify that 1 vehicle, they will need to modify the tuning its aswell. That not only means it would take a long time, but that it would make the game much more complex to be modded, so i used the original upgrade system, that's based on % increase of the base vehicle, but sadly, it doesn't support class changes. Q. The traffic in my game is being glitchy and invisible, what do i do? In the Project Paradise Laucher, make sure to enable V-Sync, to lock your fps to 60. The game won't do well with higher fps. Q. The game is displaying too much brightness, what i did wrong? Usually the dealerships display a higher brightness than the road environment. But also, that could be caused by FX Tweak being enabled in Project Paradise Launcher. TDU Platinum weather system was developed to not require FX Tweak, if you enable it in the launcher, it may override the weather files. Q. The physics have been changed, but they seem the same? That's because the physics engine is the same, but TDU allows each car to have their individual physics worked on, and that's what's been changed. To match real data, because TDU has messed it up even on the original game. Q. TDUPE is not working? Yes it is, but unfortunately i've stumbled across an issue i thought i would have. This issue happens when the database has over a thousand entries, which is the case, since TDU Platinum's database has 1105 entries. So, to use TDUPE, you must follow these steps: To run TDUPE, you must open it as admin. Point your TDU database directory in the settings and click load. Once it has loaded the database, search for the Custom Car you replaced in the car list. Modify and Click save. (That is when the problem starts.) Because TDUPE can't deal with more than 1000 entries in the database, it will make the game crash, to fix that issue, you must open TDU Modding Tools File Browser. Extract the CarPhysicsData.db, located inside the DB.bnk. Decrypt CarPhysicsData.db using TDU UT (this tool i did not provided, but it can be found on the forums) Open it using notepad and set the number of "Items" as 1105, save and close. Encrypt the file again, using TDU UT. Replace the new CarPhysicsData.db inside the DB.bnk. Q. Do i need the game or this is a standalone game? No! You need the game first, this is a mod and won't work on it's own.

I've got bad news, my game crashes when I edited any races in race editor with using range of class

For anyone that have 2 very common bugs (shifting gears and ghosting cars on track).. man... i FINALLY found how to FIX the shifting gear problem and Ghost cars !! .. you JUST need to CAP framrate at 89 or 90. Don't go over 90 and you will be fine.. omg.. for so many years i search to fix this... and i just wanted to tell everybody. Why is this fixing? because the game runes on a frame basis rather than time basis. This means the AI calculations are based on how fast your CPU is rather than basing it on a fixed time interval.

Saddly, there's only two cars who have been converted for TDU: the Solstice and the Diablo GT. You gonna have trouble to find these cars because there links to download it are dead, but if you want I can send it to you by PM ;) Also After some research in Bnks, TDUPE and TDUMT, there some other cars that Atari never include in the PC version but you can still get them, these too has been converted: - AC 427 (Shelby Cobra 427S/C) - Chevy Cobalt SS - Chevy Corvette C2 Stingray '63 - Citroën 2CV - Infiniti G35 - Maserati Quattroporte - Mazda MX-5 Roadster - Mazda RX-8 - Pontiac GTO "The Judge", - Wiesmann MF5 GT Once again, some mods are impossible to find. Will there be an update to the TDU Platinum mod?

So, I attempted and installed TDU on my PC. I used an appropriate crack to remove the DRM, and am faced with this issue. The screen immediately turns to black without the intro playing at all, and stays that way indefinitely. I have to somehow dig my way through task manager without looking at it to end this task since I can't alt-tab out of this. Of all the bugs that TDU has with Windows 10, I don't see anything about this! Anyone know what's going on? EDIT: I FIXED IT. IT WAS A PROBLEM WITH REALTEK. THIS WILL BE HELPFUL TO EVERYONE WHO IS USING A PC WITH REALTEK AUDIO DRIVERS. TELL EVERYONE THIS FIX IF THEY FACE THIS STRANGE ISSUE. So, if you use a motherboard that uses Realtek as its on-board audio, first of all, avoid getting one with Realtek ever again as many games including Hotline Miami and Katana Zero hate Realtek, and second of all, the problem lies in your audio output. When you change your volume, you will face the option of picking out several audio outputs. CHOOSE THE "Realtek HD Audio 2 Output" OPTION. That is usually the computer's default audio output. TDU only recognizes this and will refuse to budge if it doesn't detect it. If that doesn't work, try the other output options. I'm sure you're bound to find the correct option. Hope this fix helps you out. p.s. just ignore the music if you'd like

The description is crazy, but he is 100% right - I was constantly being thrown out of fullscreen on launch which also breaks the rendering and makes the game unusable until I: Opened Windows 11 System ==> Sound settings Selected unused audio playback devices (Realtek Digital output) and chose "Don't Allow" to use this device for audio. Now I can actually run TDU1 in fullscreen and got the game working without Windowed mode which so far did not work so well This should be added to FAQ on how to get TDU1 running on modern PCs.

Try disabling the "Read-only" option in the document folder. This may help

so i just installed the tdu platinum mod and it simply won't save my profile. i tried to both check and uncheck the box for gamespy, to complete the tutorial etc. yet i dont even have a savegame folder. what else should i try?

im running windows 10 so mine just says documents and its already in english. i already tried to run the game as an administrator while running it with compatibility mode for win xp fails (i get black screen for like 5secs and then it crashes to the desktop)

I have tried, it so much more problems than graphics with some cerian cars. Why it is no problem to driving other cars and the original game without any issues? I coud play my first 10 hours with other cars without any issues.

Depends on the car. Some vehicles have "overdrive" gears, which are meant to be used to save fuel in cruise speeds. A few to name are Dodge Viper and Corvette Z06. Dodge Ram SRT-10...

I understand the desire to revisit the nostalgic TDU Platinum weather mod with the purple sunsets! However, sharing direct download links for mods can be risky, as some sites hosting mods might contain malware or unwanted content.

With HEX editor perhaps. But it's easy to mess up. For online the simplest solution would be to start over the game. The usernames are unique so it's not possible to make this savegame online out of the box

Hello, I'll do my best to help. Try to delete the Test Drive Unlimited folder in Documents, then start TDU and create a profile and finish the tutorial (until you go to your house part). Then exit the game and copy and paste the profile folder in the newly created Documents TDU Folder. Another way is download this file and paste it in Documents > Test Drive Unlimited > savegame. Like Mr. Crimson said, backup all your profiles first before doing this. EDIT: New method is to try to delete radial.cdb in X: (Usually C:) > ProgramData > Test Drive Unlimited > Uncheck Hide Protected Operating System Files and Check Show Hidden Files to see radial.cdb in the folder > Delete > Start TDU and play the game (Playing the game creates new radial.cdb to fix profile problems.) ProfileList.dat

The ProfileData file needs to overwritten with this profile but make sure you backup all profiles and files in the savegame location. Should work then.

So i started playing tdu and tdu2 again but i got a problem! so when i want to save on TDU it saves but when i start the game it starts on the same exact spot before the save! TDU2 is a diffrent story because when i want to save it gives me a error thats says that i cannot save the game! i just have no clue what to do so im here to reach out to you guys to help me figure out this problem! ( yes i have reinstalled the game multiple times without succes!) tdu2 is steam version! non modded!
